Salmon with Aleppo Pepper Sauce
In this dish, we make a sauce/marinade with aleppo pepper along with lime juice, some herbs, and oil and use it to top salmon. Delicious!

Aleppo peppers are a secret weapon in your spice arsenal. Sweet and fruity, with a mild spice, they are great chili flake alternative. In this dish, we make a sauce/marinade with them along with lime juice, some herbs, and oil and use it to top salmon. Delicious!
Pro tip: mix a bit of the extra sauce with some butter and then slather that on grilled veggies. Yumm!

Mise en Place
Staples
- 2 tspaleppo pepper
- 3 tspsweet paprika
- 2 tbsolive oil
- 3 clovesgarlic
- 2 tspkosher salt
- 1/2 tsppepper
Herbs
- 1 tbsfresh thyme
- 1 tbsdill
Veggies
- 1 mediumshallot, peeled
- 1 inchpeeled ginger
Fish
- 2-4 salmonfillets
Fruits
- 2limes, juice and zest
Equipment
- 1mason jar
- 1stick blender
- 1grill, 400ish
- 2-4cedar planks
Directions
- soak the planks in water, put something on top to keep them submerged
- put aleppo, paprika, shallot, ginger, garlic, thyme, tarragon, olive oil, lime juice, lime zest, salt, and pepper in mason jar
- blend with stick blender till smooth
- with a spoon, spoon mixture in a thin layer on top of salmon
- extract planks from water, pat top dry and brush with canola oil
- place fish on planks
- place planks on grill, close grill, cook 8 minutes
- check temp, if to your liking (i like to pull it at 120)
- evac salmon, let rest for 5 minutes, and serve
