Pancakes

Pancakes

These will make your weekend. The secret? Patience, that and fresh baking soda/powder. Have all three and you will be rewarded with fluffy deliciousness.

Mise en Place

Staples

  • 1 cupAP Flour
  • 1 1/2 tbssugar
  • 3/4 tspbaking soda
  • 3/4 tspbaking powder

Dairy

  • 1large egg
  • 1 1/4 cupbuttermilk
  • 2 tbsmelted butter
  • 3/4 tspkosher salt
  • SprayCanola Oil

Equipment

  • GriddleAt Medium Low
  • 300Degree Oven

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, powder, salt, and soda
  2. In a separate bowl, crack egg, and beat lightly
  3. Add eggs and buttermilk to dry ingredients, and mix till it just comes together
  4. Spray griddle with oil, and using a measuring device, pour batter on to the griddle to create pancakes
  5. Be patient. Wait till they bubble. Once they do, check progress by peeking underneath. Once they look golden brown and delicious, flip.
  6. After 2 minutes, check pancakes. If golden, evac to plate and keep warm in oven
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 till all the batter is gone
  8. Eat!
